The story of the cart horse Gaudenzia, a half-Arabian mare, and Giorgio Terni, a boy of the Maremma marshes, and how they win fame in Siena's Palio, one of the most exciting and dangerous horse races in the world. Slight fading at upper edge of covers else Very Good in dustjacket (price clipped).

The story of the Phantom and her foal Misty, and how Paul and Maureen help to capture them and tame the untameable wild mare from Assateague, "the isle of the wild things." Sixth printing of this 1948 Newbery Honor title. Very Good in Fair dustjacket (missing three-quarters of spine panel, edge worn and torn).
