The Trees Kneel at Christmas
New York: Thomas Y. Crowell, 1951 First Edition Howe, Gertrude Herrick
12mo. Green cloth. 127pp with black & white illustrations throughout . Another wonderful tale from the author of the Betsy-Tacy books, a "modern miracle story" set in Brooklyn. Their grandmother tells two children how the trees in Syria kneel at Christmas. The children believe the trees in Prospect Park must surely also kneel and therein lies this beautiful story. Fine in lightly frayed dustjacket.
