After some truly terrifying episodes, they and a band of escaping chickens finally end up....of course I won't spoil the ending. Fine in dustjacket with a closed tear to the lower flap.

Their entrepreneurial schemes include raffling off Sampson the church cat and, as usual, everything goes haywire. One of the most hilarious Christmas books ever! Fine in Fine dustjacket.

Oblong octavo. Decorated green boards. [40]pp with humorous color illustrations by Graham Oakley. The first church mice book, wherein we meet the long-suffering cat Sampson, Arthur and all the gang. This was the first book both written and illustrated by Oakley, who described his life on the jacket copy as "stupendously uneventful." It can safely be said that his cat and mice lead lives that are stupendously eventful -- hilariously so! Fine in dustjacket.
