The author, with supporting medical evidence, explains the harm done to women's bodies by the wearing of the constraining corsets which were then so fashionable. She also addresses the physical dangers of high heels and ill-fitting shoes. Ecob goes on to discuss beauty of form and grace of motion, the principles of art applied to dress, and the moral significance of dress. Stains to fore edge, tear to upper margin of one leaf, a little wear to corners and spine ends. Good+
