1 Brown, Marcia
Once a Mouse
New York: Scribner's (1961) First Edition
Square quarto. Decorated green cloth. [32]pp. Marcia Brown took a story from the Hitopadesa and gave children her version of this ancient Sanskrit fable. Her retelling is beautifully spare, her woodcuts remarkable. The 1962 Caldecott Medal Winner. Fine in dustjacket with two long tears and light creasing, chipping at spine ends and corners.
