Familiar stories such as Hansel and Grettel, The Golden Goose, Tom Thumb, and The Elves and the Shoemaker are here, along with tales less well known. Name and date (1912) to recto of frontis. Light wear else a Very Good+ copy of this splendid book.

8vo Blue decorated cloth. 142pp with black & white illustrations highlighted in red or purple. Contains sixteen stories: Three Children of Fortune, The Little Fawn, The Tomtit and the Bear, The Golden Bird plus a dozen familiar tales. The illustrations are an intriguing blend of Sewell's bold images and Gekiere's delicate, airy line drawings, both artists providing pictures for each story. Corners lightly bumped, a little wear to upper edge and corner tip else about Very Good in chipped and worn dustjacket.

Little Red Riding Hood

9"x10.75" Color pictorial wraps. [20]pp with six full-page color chromos (versos blank) by an unknown hand. This version of the old tale has Red Riding Hood's grandmother saving herself from the wolf by locking herself in a closet. Red Riding Hood then arrives and meets the wolf disguised as Grand-mamma, gets into bed with him, curls up and falls asleep! She awakens to those savage teeth but the woodmen arrive in time to slay Master Wolf. Appended to the story is a rhyme titled "Moral," which warns children to heed with whom they keep company. Spine stitched, slight stain at spine and lower edges, a few small margin tears and corner chips, minor soil. Good. Chromos clean and bright.

At the end, Little Red Riding-Hood vows never to stray from the path when her mother tells her she shouldn't. A Stardust edition. Very Good in frayed, somewhat darkened dustjacket.

4to Gilt lettered brown cloth. [48]pp with Trina Schart Hyman's very lovely color illustrations throughout. One of her most beautiful books. Water stain to lower half of spine. Endpapers also stained at lower gutters. Hint of musty odor but crisp and clean throughout, with the noted exception. Good. Dustjacket with minor wear but a little rubbed along edges of lower half of spine. Water stain visible along spine on jacket's verso.

Book has a perfumed odor, otherwise Fine in Very Good+ dustjacket (light edge wear, particularly at corner and spine tips).
