Thick quarto. Brown buckram cloth over heavy binder's board. 478pp with photographic frontis, 1200 illustrations and 4832 words. "A first guide to the meanings, spellings and use of words and a fascinating introduction to the adventure of building a vocabulary." Each word is both printed and written and illustrated with a picture and a descriptive sentence. Of the four bindings available, this was the most expensive, meant to meet "strict text book standards." Neat name and date to patterned free endpaper else Near Fine. Dustjacket worn at edges and folds with a few tiny chips.
