Title The Fun of Saving Up. Thrift Bank Book.
Publisher [New York]: Platt & Munk, 1921
Our Book # 006935
Oblong octavo. Cloth-backed pictorial boards. Six pages of illustrated poems about thriftiness are followed by four heavy board pages, each with die-cut slots into which children can place their pennies, nickles, dimes and quarters. As each coin is placed in its slot, a child then places a glued stamp over the coin so that when a page is completed, a color picture is formed. "So place the money in each space / That's cut for it to fit, / And place a pretty picture stamp / With care, right over it." The verso of each stamp is hand lettered with its monetary designation and number; stamps are stored in a mounted envelope on the recto of the lower board. A little corner wear, small margin tear to last leaf else Very Good+ with all stamps present and unused. A unique and delightful book.
