Each page features two letters of the alphabet and an accompanying image and rhyme, with the lower cover having the final three alphabet letters. Some light soil and dusting, minor creasing, small splits at spine ends. Good.

The alphabet runs along the top and bottom of the pages, four letters to a page, with each letter represented by a fruit, vegetable or animal which begins with that letter. Ch is for Choclo (corn), L is for Lluvia (rain), Z is for Zanahoria (carrot). Spine separated above and below staples, tiny chip to lower corner, covers lightly worn. Good.

Aksharmala (A Garland of Alphabet Characters) Bombay: N. I. Patel, n.d. 12mo. Illustrated wraps. 16pp with color illustrations throughout. An alphabet for the youngest child, each letter accompanied by a lovely color litho. This little book was likely published in the 1950's to early 1960's. Written in Devanagari script, the language is probably Marathi or Hindi and the title a generic term similar to "ABC's". Spine rubbed, covers frayed with some creasing and a small surface chip at fore edge else Very Good overall. A charming ABC.

Each letter of the alphabet features a small vignette with a wheeled conveyance and a rhyme - everything from Char-a-bancs to land-Yachts. "X is the soldier rider / Who's known as an 'X-press. / If you have met one braver yet, / Pray send me his address." Quite a wonderful alphabet. 1924 gift inscription to verso of upper cover, light spine and edge wear else Very Good.

[16]pp including covers with four wonderful full-page chromolithographs plus numerous drawings in brown line within the text. "L was the Laugh when the mittens were found, And the kittens got milk and nice mouse-pie all round." A title in Father Tuck's Nursery Tales Series A.B.C. Spine sewn, upper cover chipped at lower corner and with several edge tears, blank lower cover with pencil scribbles. Light soil and small edge tears to leaves but color illustrations are clean and attractive.

The Boy Scout ABC New York Samuel Gabriel, 1916 8.5"x11" Pictorial card wraps with linen leaves. [16]pp including wraps with four full-page color illustrations plus numerous line drawings signed H K. "O is for Oath, so solemnly sworn; Scouts make a point to recite it each morn." Very clean with the exception of light, primarily marginal staining from humidity and occasional slight cockling but images very minimally affected. Staple holes stained, staples perished with leaves loose in wraps. Good+ A very scarce and wonderful alphabet.

[32]pp with Michael McCurdy's colored scratchboard illustrations throughout. Pictured on a United States frigate, this is a traditional alphabet chantey from the 1800s which sailors would sing as they worked. A striking and informative alphabet. A few tiny spots in fore-edge margins at one opening else Very Good+ in dustjacket.

[32]pp. Each page features a color illustration of a letter of the alphabet and one or more children. Children sit on the letters, sleep on them, have tea under them and one wee lad even fishes in the "U". Anglund's paintings have a delicacy which can't be conveyed in our scan. This is a lovely little alphabet. Tiny, pale spot on jacket spine else book and jacket are Very Good+ in lightly rubbed slipcase.
